Routines

Your firm's expertise, encoded as repeatable workflows

Routines

Routines are your firm's playbooks. They string multiple tasks together in a sequence, automatically ensuring everyone (including AI) knows what to do next.

Life Cycle of a Routine

Routines manage the state of active work inside Engagements.

Templates

Master firm-wide playbooks (e.g., Client Intake, Due Diligence, Discovery prep).

Live Workflows

The active workflows that you trigger inside a specific Engagement.

Deployed

Templates that pass review and are published for the entire firm to use.

Execution Modes

Every Routine runs in one of two modes:

  1. Manual: A human triggers the routine and works through each step. Required for complex, judgment-heavy approvals.
  2. Scheduled: Runs on a recurring cadence (daily, weekly, monthly, or a custom interval) with a configurable start date, frequency, and time of day. Ideal for recurring compliance checks or periodic billing reviews.

Auto-Assign AI

This is an optional setting you can enable on any Routine, regardless of execution mode. When turned on, AI-compatible Blocks are automatically assigned to the appropriate AI Agent for processing — for example, a Drafting block is handled by the Drafting Agent, or a Review block by the Review Agent.

When enabling Auto-Assign AI, it is strongly recommended to keep Require Human Review active in your Routine's configuration. Seraa AI operates as the drafter, but a licensed professional must approve the work.

Routine Builder

Seraa AI features a visual drag-and-drop builder for Routines.

  • Drag Blocks (steps) into the canvas.
  • Connect one Block's output as the input of the next.
  • Test workflows instantly inside the builder before sharing them with your team.
