Frequently asked questions about Seraa AI
Frequently Asked Questions
What is Seraa AI?
Seraa AI is an AI-powered legal operating system designed to act as a tireless, high-context teammate for law firms. It combines workflow automation, AI agents, and collaboration tools to streamline legal work.
How is Seraa AI different from other legal tech tools?
Seraa AI positions itself as a "legal teammate" rather than just software. It operates on Engagements (central matter containers), Routines (reusable workflows), and AI agents that actively assist rather than replace attorneys.
Is my data secure?
Yes. Seraa AI implements enterprise-grade security including encryption at rest and in transit, role-based access control, and audit logging to comply with legal industry standards.
What's the difference between an Engagement and a Routine?
An Engagement is the container for a legal matter (the folder holding your files and team). A Routine is an automated workflow that runs inside an Engagement to push the matter forward.
Which Blocks are AI-compatible?
AI-compatible Blocks include Drafting, Review, RunExtractions, ExtractReminders, Report, Compliance, and EthicsReview. Human/hybrid blocks include IntakeForm, Upload, Approval, Signing, CarbonCopy, DataCollection, and Custom.
Can AI access my previous documents?
AI can reference documents within the current Engagement for context. It never accesses documents from outside matters unless you explicitly select them.
What happens if an AI Block fails?
If Fallback to Human is enabled in your Routine's configuration, the system automatically routes the task to the designated human assignee to complete manually.
How does version control work?
Every time a Smart Document is saved or edited, a new version is historically tracked. You can compare versions, view redlines, and restore previous states at any time.
Can clients see my internal documents?
No. Clients typically receive the "Observer" role on an Engagement, meaning they only see documents and Intake Forms that have been explicitly shared with them. At the Routine level, they may be assigned "Signer" access on specific Blocks to view and sign documents. They cannot view your internal communications.
How are reminders created?
Reminders are automatically extracted from contracts by the AI Reminder Agent (e.g., catching a 60-day auto-renewal clause) or can be manually created by your team. They appear on your centralized Reminders dashboard and the system sends email notifications as deadlines approach.
