Access Nexus
Roles and permissions for secure collaboration
Access Nexus
The Access Nexus controls who can see and do what in Seraa AI. It ensures sensitive information is only accessible to the right people.
Engagement Roles
Every collaborator invited to an Engagement must be assigned a role. These roles dictate what they can see and manipulate:
| Role | Permissions | Best For |
|---|---|---|
| Owner | Full control over the Engagement and its Routines. | Partner or Lead Attorney |
| Lead | Can manage, edit, and assign tasks, but cannot delete the Engagement. | Senior Associates |
| Member | Can view the matter and complete assigned Blocks. | Paralegals, Associates |
| Observer | Strictly view-only access. | Clients or Expert Witnesses |
External parties (like clients and co-counsel) only see what their role allows. Always practice the principle of least privilege.
Routine-Level Access
When assigning collaborators to individual Blocks within a Routine, additional access levels apply:
| Access Level | Permissions | Best For |
|---|---|---|
| Editor | Can modify the Block's content and configuration. | Associates working the task |
| Reviewer | Can review and approve the Block's output. | Senior attorneys or partners |
| Collaborator | Can contribute to the Block without full editing rights. | Support staff |
| Observer | View-only access to the Block's progress and output. | Clients monitoring progress |
| Signer | Can only view and sign the specific document routed to them. | Counterparties, clients |
Audit Trails
Because Seraa AI acts as a central operating system, every action—from viewing a document to triggering an AI Agent—is permanently logged in the Engagement's background audit trail. If a document is downloaded or altered, you will always know who did it and when.
